OMGOSH FINALLY
Sunday, April 26th, 2009So this is the book’s blog. It’s not going to be so much about the book. I will try and keep that business on the news page and instead fill this wee blog with an unremitting stream of TOTAL MAGIC AND GOOD TIMES–like this:
YouTube has yielded this mini-documentary about Screaming Females, the New Jersey band fronted by Marissa Paternoster, who is the most serious guitar heroine going these days
Mega-shredding from teenage hands.
Marissa’s got a blog, which is mostly her art, which has graced the covers of the Screaming Females albums and many a New Jersey show flier. Screaming Females blog their tour hijinx from their never ending four and five month long tours, including the one they just started that runs through August. The band is hitting the road for the next four or five months in support of their brand new and best album Power Move. It’s pretty much guaranteed that if you live in the 48 contiguous states, you will have a chance to see them play before August. The last time I saw them, the show ended with Marissa hunched on the floor, pounding her distortion pedals with her fists and everyone in the audience looking at each other in disbelief.
BAT 4 LIFE

Natasha Khan and the ladies (and dude) of Bat For Lashes playing the single “Daniel”. Her new album Two Suns is really fantastic and intense–thought not as intense as that wig that is sewn to her t-shirt.
